Mark James Mansour is an MA candidate at Queen's University. He received his Combined Honours Bachelors degree from Glendon College, York University majoring in Sociology and minoring in French Studies. He also obtained a second Honours Bachelor in Human Rights and Equity Studies at York University. Currently, his interests lie in the technological mechanisms of surveillance, particularly unmanned aerial drones (UAVs). Under the guidance of supervisor Dr. David Murakami Wood, Mark's current MA research focuses on the politics of drone procurement in the Federal Government of Canada: the actors (state and non-state), institutions and entities involved in the core decision-making process surrounding the purchase of UAVs or drones. Further, this research will attempt to situate where the politics of drone procurement lies- within the nation-state of Canada or as part of a broader context of integration with the United-States.
