Founded in 1882, RSC is Canada’s senior and most prestigious scholarly organization. Election to RSC is the highest honour a scholar can achieve in the Arts, Humanities and Sciences.
"I am delighted to hear the news that four of our faculty members have been recognized by the Royal Society of Canada, a prestigious organization that is a part of the intellectual fabric of this country," says Queen's Vice-Principal (Research) Kerry Rowe. "Drs. Lyon, Herzberg, Smol and Overall are leading scholars in their fields, having made outstanding contributions to a variety of issues in the sciences, social sciences, and humanities that have achieved distinction, both nationally and internationally. They are all highly deserving of this recognition, and I offer them my congratulations."
The medals and awards will be presented at a banquet in Ottawa on November 15, following the induction ceremony of newly elected Fellows.
