The SSN Annual Book Prize 2014, for the best surveillance studies monograph published in 2013, has been awarded to Oliver Leistert for From Protest to Surveillance: The Political Rationality of Mobile Media (Peter Lang).
The committee’s decision was a unanimous one. Leistert’s work was praised for: “the combination of empirical work with theoretical insight and the consequent benefit of looking more clearly at the conceptual framework that is appropriate for understanding surveillance.
