The Surveillance Project "is the first cross-national study of its kind that surveys attitudes and experiences with the global flow of personal data, with special focus on privacy and surveillance". Surveillance Project data have been deposited in the Data Centre at Queen's University Library, which has a mandate to archive and make these data accessible to researchers. To that end, Surveillance Project data have been added to a new Province-wide data system called odesi, which combines a state-of-the-art search and discovery layer with an easy-to-use, web-based tool to generate tables and graphs. These tools make surveys and polls accessible, even to novice users, and are ideal for both teaching and research purposes. Advanced users can download surveys in a variety of formats, including SPSS, SAS, and STATA. Using Surveillance Project data as a point of departure, this presentation will highlight odesi as a means of discovering and exploring surveys dealing with privacy and surveillance issues, and more.
Everyone welcome!
